Tom Hartridge - qualified as a specialist orthodontist having completed specialist orthodontic programme at Bristol University in 2002. He is the partner of 2 specialist orthodontic practices and Southsea and Waterlooville and works with a team including 3 specialist orthodontists and 3 orthodontic therapists.

Details:

General dental practitioners and Dental hygienists have a critical role in monitoring the dental development of children and can identify patients who would benefit from orthodontic treatment or benefit from input from a specialist orthodontist.
This course aims to explain the role of a dental care practitioner in the orthodontic care of their patients.
I would encourage participants to bring along any cases they would like to discuss, any radiographs, photos or study models of cases would be helpful to discuss cases more fully.

Objectives:

By attending this course you will:                                          
1. Be able to assess IOTN for patients
2. Assess the suitability and timing for orthodontic referral
3. Understand possible intervention to prevent orthodontic problems developing in the developing dentition
4. Understand where and when to make orthodontic referrals and the use of NHS referral systems
