Modern Management of Advanced Caries in Children

Details: Most – if not all of us – will at some stage in our career be faced with a child with advanced carious lesions in their primary molars.

This hands-on CPD course is designed to assist and support primary care practitioners in effectively managing caries in the paediatric dentition using a Hall preformed metal crown. Participants will also be exposed to training in the techniques for undertaking primary pulp therapy & exodontia practice along with the appropriate behaviour management techniques.

Objectives:
1. To provide the evidence-base underpinning the management of grossly carious primary molars.
2. To expose participants to hands-on training in the techniques for undertaking primary pulp therapy.
3. To expose participants to hands-on training in the techniques for providing extra-coronal restorations to primary molars.
4. Refresher training on deciduous extractions

Learning Outcomes:
1. Apply the appropriate evidence to effectively manage advanced caries in children.
2. Demonstrate competence in carrying out primary pulp therapy in a simulated environment.
3. Demonstrate competence in restoring primary molars using preformed metal crowns in a simulated environment.
4. Refresh knowledge on paediatric extractions
