Course Description

Speaker(s): 
Diane Rochford RDH, BSc (Hons), Dental Hygienist - Diane qualified as a dental hygienist at Guy’s (London), in March 1996. Joining Dr Linda Greenwalls team in September 1996, Diane works as an extended duties dental hygienist in the practice.  Since 2008, Diane has been teaching with Dr Greenwall on her dental bleaching courses in the UK and overseas, before running her own courses specifically for dental hygienists and therapists in 2010. She has written and published articles for various dental journals including Dental Health and Primary Dental Journal.  She completed her BSc (Hons) in Dental Studies at University of Central Lancashire in 2016.
Diane has been a BSDHT member (formally BDHA) since qualifying and was the BSDHT North West Region group representative on Council four years until being elected President Elect in November 2018. 

Details: This course, will provide delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence to undertake appropriate tooth whitening treatment safely for patients of the practice. 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the session the students will be able to:
1) List the components that form a comprehensive examination prior to tooth whitening 
2) Discuss how tooth whitening works
3) Design a suitable prescription template and quick reference sheet 
4) Explain the types of tooth whitening treatments available and recommend the most appropriate treatment 
5) Clarify the answers to patient’s questions
6) Demonstrate a safe and effective method for taking alginate impressions 
7) Apply home whitening gel safely into the patient’s trays. 
8) Perform in-surgery isolation safely
