In order to apply for the Professional Qualification in Probation (PQIP) at the University of Portsmouth please read the following.
The programme includes completing a QCF/RQF level 6 academic programme (equivalent to the last part of an honours degree) alongside a level 5 vocational qualification. To apply, you will need a degree or a recognised level 5 qualification, or above, and to have completed three or more of the required knowledge modules in:
• The Criminal Justice System (TCJS)
You will also need relevant experience of working with challenging behaviour. If you don’t have a level 5 qualification and 3 or more of the required modules, it will mean you have to do further study with the University of Portsmouth via Distance learning.
If you already have a level 5 qualification, but only three of the required knowledge modules, you can complete the fourth during the (PQIP) training programme. Once you have completed the knowledge modules you require the University of Portsmouth will enter you into the Gateway Assessment Service (GAS) at no extra cost and issue you with your Unique GAS number in order to apply for the PQIP.
Apply here for the specific Level 5 Knowledge Module(s) you need to study for the PQIP.
